RG plus Miner equals oh baby a tripple
Hello all! My name is iLickBigMacs and I would like to share a deck that has gotten me through multiple arenas. Now to be fair, the credit for getting me through almost four arenas is because the Royal Giant is crazy good, but we all know a good deck is where it’s at. I have made a few minor changes, but the deck had stayed the same ever since I got the miner in arena 6, which is when I started to use this deck. The main thing to watch out for with this deck is a good golem or Pekka deck, and always make sure you are watching your elixir if you use it to fast you won’t be able to use the combos that make this deck work. Let’s begin.
Here is the deck, and then we will go into detail on how to use it.
First off, the Zap card is cheap but can have a big impact. Many of you already know but to those of you who are new, the zap card is the only spell besides lighting and the electro wizard which stuns cards. This means that the card it deals damage to has its action is reset while being temporarily immobilized for a very short period. It will also cause it to reset it’s targeting algorithm which in English means it will reacquire a target. So if another card is closer, it will switch to that. Good examples are an x-bow shooting your tower, so yo put down an ice golem and zap the x-box. It will stop shooting for a second and then start shooting the ice golem.
Fist we have bats. Bats are dirt cheap and can cause a positive elixir trade if they use arrows or fireball. Bats can also single-handedly take out a golem. They are a great card to play when you need a lot of damage done. They can also take out a tower in a few seconds if they can get to the tower and not be targeted.
Minions are in here to be repetitive. They do more alpha damage than the bats, and unlike bats they can survive a zap and do ranged damage. The way I use them is in conjunction with bats. I put down either bats or minions, and if they use a spell to wipe them out then I simply play the other. This is the one card out of the deck that could be swapped out for your liking, but I enjoy having air units in my deck as explained below in the detailed analysis section.
The Royal Giant is this deck’s main damage dealing the card. What makes this card so unique is that it only has to take a few steps over the bridge before it can start to do damage. Ignoring this card will allow you to take the tower, and at six elixir, you are not in need of a pump to make this deck work. If you wait for the full elixir, you will have enough for any of the other main cards in the deck eg walk or baby drag. The one thing to be careful of is the face that since he stops right after the bridge, and ground based cards will have trouble getting around him, so take this into account if you swap out minions for something else.
Valkyrie is a very powerful card. She has a lot of hit points, and does aoe. Use her to get rid of goblins or skeletons, a giant skeleton, elite barbs, barbs, a knight, a dark prince, etc. Simple card, but can be very effective with bats or minions. Place her down so that the tower targets her so the minions or bats can go in and do massive damage if they ignore it.
Baby dragon can be used in the same way, but being an air tank has a special role. She is the card I like to use the most with the royal giant. Since the RG stops just after the bridge he kinda blocks other cards. I have found that if an ice wizard is behind him, the ice wizard fumbles trying to get around the RG. So with the baby drag it does not matter, since she flys over him, getting rid of minion horde and skeleton army in a few hits.
The ice wizard is a very special card. He does both air and ground aoe, and heavily slows targets. Use him with your tower to stop almost anything. He works great with valk and baby drag. Use him wisely.
Lastly, the miner. He can be used to stop pushes if you have valk or ice wizard on cool down, take out low health towers, and most importantly to me, he can get a very positive trade if your opponent puts down an elixir pump. Think about that. that’s a six to three trade, and they now are stuck without the extra elixir that they probably need to make their deck effective. I sometimes split push with RG on one side with him and bats on the other for example.
