Wassup guys! It’s B-Yatch’CH (aka DabMaster2) back at it again with another Deck guide for you guys! Today, I’ll be showing my 3rd LumberLoon Deck

Due to Bridge Spam becoming meta, many decks have adapted to ground-based attacks with less anti-air cards and will not be expecting Lumberjack Balloon.

That’s right, LumberLoon is back and is crushing the meta once again!

Let’s get into it!

Cards Breakdown

Clash Royale LumberjackLumberjack – He is almost mostly used on offense with the Balloon to Rage up the Balloon. On defense, he doesn’t have that much health so he will probably die easily. The Lumberjack is almost always going to be played with the Balloon on offense. Lumberjack can also be used with Fire Spirits or Ice Spirit

Clash Royale BalloonBalloon – The Balloon with the Lumberjack’s Rage can do massive damage in short amount of time which gives this Deck a good chance for comebacks. Only play the Balloon of you can play the Lumberjack with it because there are no other good tanks to use with the Balloon in this Deck. The only time you will play the Balloon without a Lumberjack is either in desperation or in the beginning of the match.

Clash Royale ExecutionerExecutioner – The good ole Executioner is your main defensive card with the Tornado. Reserve him exclusively for defense and if he survives, it can make for a powerful LumberLoon counter push.

Clash Royale TornadoTornado – Paired with the Executioner, this can stop many pushes. Use the Tornado to activate the king Tower for a better defensive advantage. It can even be used on offense to drag enemy troops to the other lane away from the Balloon.

Clash Royale Fire SpiritsFire Spirits – Fire Spirits are your Designated Minion Assassins! Minion Horde will shred through the LumberLoon but with Fire Spirits, the Minions will be nothing but a puddle of Elixir. Fire Spirits are also great crowd control cards to take down other swarms like Barbarians.

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit – The Ice Spirit cheap, versatile troop for cycling your Deck. He can support any push with the Lumberjack and Balloon and help on defense to Freeze threats.

Clash Royale Goblin GangGoblin Gang – These guys are your swarm card and are used to provide high DPS. They are self-explanatory.

Clash Royale fireballFireball – A medium spell used to take out hordes. Also self-explanatory.

Lumberjack Replacements

The although being one of the main staples in this Deck, the Lumberjack has other important substitutions to be taken note of. Switching out the Lumberjack can alter the attack strategy to better counter certain types of decks. The best replacements for the Lumberjack is the battle and Hog Rider.

Clash Royale Battle RamBattle Ram – The Lumberjack Balloon combo by itself is very susceptible to Executioner Tornado. By switching Lumberjack to Battle Ram, you will have a slightly better chance against Executioner Tornado because when the Battle Ram dies, the Barbarians that spawn can distract the Executioner away from the Balloon. Although this is better against Executioner Tornado, you will lose the Rage effect from the Lumberjack.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider – This is an interesting replacement. Using the Hog Rider, you will not have the defensive capabilities of the Lumberjack and Battle Ram, but the Hog Rider can be a better offensive unit.

General Gameplan

Starting plays

  • LumberLoon at the bridge (risky play)
  • Lumberjack + Ice Spirit or Fire Spirits at the bridge
  • Goblin Gang split at the back
  • Executioner at the back (risky play
  • Ice Spirit/Fire Spirits at the bridge

At the beginning, like any deck, learn what your opponent is playing. When playing a Balloon deck, it is important to flag enemy counter cards. Things like, e wiz, Musketeer, Minions, Wizard, Inferno Tower, and Tornado to name more than a few. After one or two Balloon pushes in the beginning, you should now figure out how many counter cards your opponent has.

If you count 1 counter card, your game plan will be to completely stomp your opponent by sending many LumberLoon pushes because your opponent has only 1 counter card. This should be an easy match, but this is a very rare occurrence.

If you count 2 counter cards, this will not be as easy because your opponent will always have a counter ready for the Balloon if they do not use that card somewhere else. Your gameplan should be to try to out cycle the enemy counters and to force them to use a counter card at the wrong place.

If you count 3 counter cards, this will be a real doozy of a match! Your Balloon will have an extremely tough time getting to the Tower. Your best bet is to wait for your opponent to use up most of their counters cards elsewhere then punish them, or just play for a draw.

If you count 4 or more counters cards, your Balloon is screwed and will basically never reach the enemy Tower. I suggest either playing for a draw or punish your opponent for big investments.

Once you have identified and flagged the enemy counter cards in your mind, follow through to your gameplan whether it be to stomp your opponent or to play patiently and punish your opponent for mistakes.

With this Deck, it is very important to attack both lanes and punish big investments. If any card that costs 6 or more Elixir in the back (including Elixir pumps), immediately rush the other lane. If the Pump is played it doesn’t matter what side you rush but rushing the same side of the Pump might give you some more Fireball value. You must not let your opponent build up a big push because your meager defense of Executioner Tornado can’t stop a monster push.

Deck Matchups

Clash Royale GiantGiant – Executioner Tornado can stop most Giant pushes. Goblin Gang can help with extra DPS as well. Remember to rush the other lane if the Giant is played at the back or if a 5-Elixir card is played in the back as well. Keep up the pressure to prevent monster pushes. If your attack has been defended, be wary of your opponent counter pushing with surviving troops.

Clash Royale GolemGolem – Golems can be a tough matchup but if you always pressure your opponent with LumberLoon, you will be able to get good damage done and your opponent will not get a monster push. In the case that there is a monster push coming at you, Executioner Tornado + Fireball will kill all supporting troops and finish off the Golem with the help of the Goblin Gang.

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AP.E.K.K.A – P.E.K.K.A is the hardest matchup with this Deck because of the lack of tank killing units. Goblin can get zapped easily so you will also need to rely on Executioner Tornado with Ice Spirit to stall the P.E.K.K.A. Lumberjack can also be used to provide extra damage against the P.E.K.K.A. On offense, a lot of P.E.K.K.A decks run Tornado which will give the Balloon a very hard time reaching the Tower even when raged. Try to out cycle counter cards and attack both lanes.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider – Hogs aren’t that hard of a matchup. Tornado him to your king Tower and Executioner Tornado should be able to finish off the rest of the Hog pushes. Attack both lanes with LumberLoon to keep your opponent off guard and at the same time, expect a good Hog player to attack both lanes as well.

Clash Royale Goblin GangBait Decks – These can be a tough matchup without a Zap spell. Use the Tornado to pull the Goblin Barrel to the king Tower and use the Executioner to clear swarms. Goblin Gang can also help clearing other Goblin gangs and skeleton armies. Many bait decks run Inferno Tower which is a tough card to kill. Once the Lumberjack gets raged, Fireball the Inferno to let the Balloon one-shot it.

Clash Royale Three Musketeers3 Muskies – This Deck runs Fireball for a reason: to assassinate 3 muskies! The only thing you must watch out for is the Heal spell. Executioner Tornado can help with splash damage against the 2 Musketeers side while Goblin Gang, Ice Spirit and Fire Spirits can clean things up. Remember to always punish Pump play and keep pressure before Double Elixir time when the 3 muskies player will have a harder time playing 3M.

Clash Royale Battle RamBridge Spam – Executioner Tornado. Push stopped. Executioner Tornado can deal with every single big push will Lumberjack, Ice Spirit, Fire Spirits, and Goblin Gang can deal with small pushes. Many bridge spam decks don’t contain that many hard counters to the Balloon so a raged Balloon will be extremely deadly.

Clash Royale MinerMiner – Always Tornado to Miner to activate the king Tower. Once the king Tower is activated simply using Ice Spirit can prevent and major chip damage from being done. Lumberjack and Goblin Gang are also a reliable counter though Goblin Gang can get poisoned.

Clash Royale Lava HoundLavaloon – Executioner Tornado. Anotha push stopped. Just watch out for Lightning + another spell combination which will kill the Executioner. Only use the Executioner if the Lava Hound is coming towards your Tower. Save the Tornado ONLY when the Balloon is played. Without Tornado against the Balloon, your opponent can easily rush the other side with Balloon and will likely get to your Tower.

Clash Royale Elite BarbariansElite Barbarians – Executioner Tornado. Ultimate cancer killer. Goblin Gang, Ice Spirit, and Fire Spirits can also clean things up easily.

Clash Royale Royal GiantRoyal Giant – This comes at a close second as the hardest matchup especially if the RG is over leveled. Without a high DPS card, this Deck can struggle against the RG. Your best bet is to use the Lumberjack and Goblin Gang to do most the damage while Executioner Tornado kills the supporting cards. If the Lumberjack survives, immediately counter push with the Balloon.

That’s it for now. Any questions, comments, or insults, post them in the comments below. Have a Clashtastic Day!!
