Wassup guy, Dark/Dank Prince here with my 3rd guide! This one is yet again different from the last 2, since it features Hog Rider and Dart Goblin.

I made this deck recently after reading the Dart Goblin guideThis is a cycle deck, which is the only similarity between my past guides.

Without further adieu, let’s get into the guide.

Clash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale Dart GoblinClash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Guards
Clash Royale Ice SpiritClash Royale ZapClash Royale fireballClash Royale Inferno Tower

copy deck

Pros:

  • Not too hard to learn
  • Only 3.0 total elixir cost
  • Free 2 Play, few epics or legendaries

Cons:

  • Takes some knowledge in cycling to win with
  • You need tournament standard cards at least
  • No high damage defensive cards under 4 elixir.
  • Only 1 win condition, rest of the cards are support

The Deck

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider: This is your win condition.

Only use when you’re sure it’ll get some value. Ex. When they overspend or you have spells in hand.

Remember (if you forgot then quit the game) it can’t help you defend, but it can kite troops with practice

TL;DR- Your win condition

Clash Royale Dart GoblinDart Goblin: Air defense and Chip Damage.

That’s the main reason for this little guy.

With insane dps, and the ability to hit air at only 3 elixir, he’s your main support for Hog Rider.

Not great on your side by himself since most spells take him out, like log and arrows, but he’s perfect for supporting troops for an easy counter push

TL;DR- Your main Hog support, good on defense, but usually needs help.

Clash Royale Ice GolemIce Golem: Tanking for your Hog Rider, and used for kiting troops.

The slowness effect is still very useful.

Its death damage can allow you to Zap troops to death that normally would survive.

Clash Royale Guards
Guards: It’s literally their name.

These little guys are for defending, rarely use them for offense.

Pair them up with Dart Goblin and 90% of the time you’re golden on defense.

Plus unlike Dart Goblin, it takes more than 1 spell to take them down!

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit

Your cycle card, and perfect on defense or offense.

Clash Royale ZapZap: Destroyer of Skeleton Armies, Goblins, Minion, and resetter of troops.

In other words, Hog protection, and tower protection, and an easy cycle card when you need something to do.

Clash Royale fireballFireball: Your medium damage spell.

Used for killing support, and anything they may have killing your Hog.

Since this is your main spell it’s important you only use to get the most value possible.

Clash Royale Inferno TowerInferno Tower: Tank killer.

Without this, odds are you’ll think you face Golem or Giant everytime.

Basically this is the destroyer of their win conditions.

It’s also the heaviest card in this deck(cost the most elixir) at 5 elixir. So be weary of using it without reason.

Matchups

Clash Royale GiantGiant: Easy to Medium matchup.

If the person you’re facing is overleveled you still have counters like inferno tower for the giant, fireball for support. All you have to do is play smart.

If they aren’t overleveled, and are leveled similarly to you then this is one of your easiest matchups. You have Inferno Tower, Guards, Fireball, etc.

Nothing they have should be able to overrun you.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider: Easy matchup.

You have plenty of answers for anything reasonable they could have.

The key is to not overcommit and let them out-cycle or overwhelm you.

Clash Royale BalloonBalloon: Easy matchup.

Even if it’s Lavaloon they won’t have a card that you don’t have a hard counter for(usually).

Inferno tower the Balloon, or Hound if it’s Lavaloon, Fireball or Zap support.

Like everything just don’t overcommit.

Clash Royale Three Musketeers3 Musketeers: Medium matchup.

Might sound strange but a lot of 3m decks can have so much going on.

It’s completely situational how you have to play everytime.

Clash Royale Royal GiantRoyal Giant: This includes Elite Barbarians, since they are such a beautiful couple(sarcasm), but this matchup is generally easy.

You have yet again almighty inferno tower for the RG, Ice Golem to distract support, spells and guards to kill it.

The only time it’s dangerous is if you misplace an inferno tower, or overcommit and get overwhelmed

Clash Royale GolemGolem: This was surprisingly one of the easiest matchups I had using this deck.

Inferno Tower decimates Golem, Guards are perfect for support.

Spell use when versing Golem is vital not to mess up.

Have patience, always try to get more than just a little value.

Clash Royale X-BowSiege: Ouch. Siege, the destroyer of Hog decks, actually most people usually tie…

Anyways, the key here is to not let the X-bow, or Mortar lock on to your tower.

They thrive on chip damage. Give them none.

As you may have noticed my matchups isn’t exactly a “How to” part of my guide. I believe all players play differently. So whilst giving some tips on what to do and not to do, I leave it to you guys to learn how you use this deck most comfortably against others.

Gameplan

3:00 to 2:30

Don’t over commit, mostly because it’s hard too with this deck, but spend this time learning their deck and getting some chip damage in.

Don’t show your whole deck quite yet, hold Inferno Tower, Dart Goblin, Fireball, just keep some surprises.

2:30 to 1:30

Now attempt some slightly larger pushes, maybe add Dart Goblin in with the Hog, or an Ice Golem or 2.

Still be weary of getting overwhelmed or out cycled.

This is when showing your whole deck is okay.

Start using a bit more elixir, but still hold the advantage.

1:30 to 0:30

Now destroy them!

Especially after double elixir cycling will be so easy you’ll have no problem keeping up with your opponent, and definitely will have no problem out cycling them depending on their deck.

Make sure spells stay in your hand, still don’t want to get overwhelmed.

0:30 to End

Finish off any towers, and defend any of their pushes.

This is when control is most important, over time can be devastating for this deck if you can’t get them before OT, be prepared to struggle.

In other words, don’t lose!

And that’s it folks. Hope you enjoyed this guide, as I personally love this deck. Peace out guys!

  1. Hey dank, nice guide and deck! I like how you didn’t put RG in your hog deck. also,(nobody would care) I’m back!!!

  2. Bait deck got nerfed a lot last time…
    I hate u SC

Btw, nice deck and guide. Only minor addition is u didnt add bait matchup
    Is bait deck ded already? ;-;

  3. How is this new meta? it’s probably one of the worst times to play a bait deck, let alone hog. The Meta decks consist of royal ghost which literally takes all the cards in the deck with ease. MK cancels your push, it’s easier to destroy a inferno tower than defending it. Ghoison and Goison are also have poison like many other decks due to the new guard surge, making it even easier to cut through as there just isn’t any 100% reliable cards. Golem has also been incredibly hard, I admit am not the best at beating Golems but when they have poison, it’s over. So what if the golems dead? the point of it is so we built up a mass of non-stop supports. The inferno dies halfway through itself, reaming squishies die by death damage and then we get stomped.

I am not the best cycle player either so take my comment with a grain of salt, I’d be happy if you could prove me wrong.

    • I don’t get what poison would hav to do with th equation. The point of cycle is to constantly apply pressure with hogs and get there tower down or really low before double elixir. Just don’t ever let golem get th elixir lead and inferno tower and guards will be your best friend.

      • It simply doesn’t work that way. Spam all the hogs you want, it’s never gonna reach the capability of the damage of a Beatdown deck, and “poison is not in the equation”? that’s like leaving your x and y out of one. Poison kills everything in the deck, look at your deck, it’s built of squishies, they die to it in less than 3 seconds.

Also you’ve left all my questions dangling, Ghoison? Goison? Inferno Ghost (w/hut or not)? Why Bait is a good idea? How this is the “new meta”?

      • I never found poison or Ghost a problem with this deck. The point isn’t just to cycle Hogs, it’s to cycle everything so you can defend/push or avoid spells like almighty poison. Also, on the Golem topic, unless they can kill my Inferno Tower, and give me a reason to stop cycling, I havent had a golem take out a tower. Sure I have had to choose to tie, but that’s my point of view on your concerns

    • As hybrid ftw said, the point is to out cycle all of that. That’s why in gameplan I say not to do any major pushes unless sure. You need to be able to quickly get back to your defense before they can get back to their counter for it.

  4. I’ve lost 12 battles today and I’m in arena 9, does any one have some tips or
    some decks?Without Legendaries.

  5. I hit a new high of 4661 with my Golem Minions deck today! It’s knocking out everything matchmaking gives me!

  6. Just hit 3900 for the fifth time after a triple loss from 3993 (which is my highest). Main cause goes to the fact that beatdown screws me up and also levels, any official tips, opinions or suggestions.
    My ladder deck:
    MK lvl1
    Ghost lvl 1
    Log lvl2
    Ewiz lvl 2
Gob gang 10 (it could be upgraded by saving up for level 7 mirror)
    Bats 10 (^^)
    Zap 11 nearly 12
Mega Minion (IDrag doesn’t work for me on beatdown sorry).

I have all cards in the game and am level 11.

    • try a pekka grave yard deck, as pekka wrecks beatdown and is good on counter push, i have knight and poison+ice spirit to deal with support troops
      Log
      Poison
      Kknight
      E-wiz
      Pekka
      Ice spirit
      grave yard
Gob gang (or guards) both work
i have had 7 strait wins with deck and still climbing to legendary arena now maybe try it out?
(grave yard should be lvl 2 r up if you want this to be very affective

  7. kinda short but still okay, dart goblin isnt very strong right now as royal ghost and lots of splash and beatdown decks are everywhere, this could be used for lower arenas as hog is good when your not going up against over lvlved players / cards
