Elite Graveyard Freeze Deck for Arena 8+
Hey guys It’s Will here and today I am going to show you the new meta deck, the Elite Hog Freeze Deck. The deck I am going to show you is a modified version of the F2P original one. I will write a guide for the original one soon tomorrow!
This deck is apparently used a lot in Legendary Arena and you can also easily see most top players on the leaderboard are using this deck too!
This deck was designed and shared by Ash!
Elite Graveyard Freeze Deck
Let’s talk about the weakness of original deck first! It’s the Graveyard. I doesn’t do really well against most Graveyard decks at the moment so you can believe that this deck works very well against the original one. I have won so many matches against the original deck due to the Graveyard.
Cards Breakdown
Elite Barbarians- Beside Graveyard, Elite Barbarians are the star in this deck.
They can shred through a Tower in the blink of an eye. They are excellent on both defense and offense.
Since their DPS is 378, they can take out any ground tank in Clash Royale in seconds (Giant, Royal Giant, Hog Rider and Golem).
Also, due to their very fast movement speed, they are excellent on counterpushing! After getting a positive Elixir trade, your strong counterpush (Elite Barbarians + Ice Golem etc) just need a few seconds to reach the opponent’s Tower, when he is still on low Elixir.
To read more about Elite Barbarians, please take a look at this in-depth guide.
Graveyard – The main damage dealer of this deck! This is definitely the most opportunistic card in the whole game at the moment
The Graveyard is very strong itself but also pretty easy to counter so you will not want to play it If you don’t have any tank (Elite Barbarians, Mega Minion and Ice Golem) on the opponent’s side.
Ideally, play it when you are on the counterpush with at least 1/2HP Elite Barbarians or full HP Ice Golem. Even a full HP Mega Minion soaking damage can help the Graveyard deal a serious amount of damage to the Tower.
Freeze – I don’t have much thing to say about the Freeze truly.
I don’t recommend using the Freeze before the x2 Elixir time since misplay can cost you the whole match.
Keep Freeze as the top secret and only use it when you you are 100% sure that you are going to get the Tower. Wait a bit before dropping it so you can disable as many troops as possible.
Of course you can sometimes use it on defense, when you don’t have any better choice.
Freeze + Elite Barbarians and Freeze + Graveyard + Any tank are the main combos you will want to use while using this deck.
Ice Golem – Excellent on both offense and defense!
Excellent at distracting supports behind tank and kiting troops. For example, there is a Giant + support combo coming towards your Tower, lure the Giant to the center with your Tombstone then use Ice Golem to distract + slow the support troops behind. While those supports are being distracted by your Ice Golem, use either Mega Minion or Archers to take them out.
Remember that the Ice Golem can take out Skeleton Army upon death. Also, with the help of the Zap spell, he can take out the Minion Horde and Princess.
Tombstone – The best defensive building at the moment (or probably the best).
Excellent against almost any ground push. Works extremely well against the opposing Elite Barbarians.
Can’t be completely removed by all spells in game, except The Log.
I strongly recommend you take a look at this Tombstone guide for more details.
Zap
Who doesn’t know Zap?
Excellent at resetting Sparky, Inferno Tower and removing Skeletons left from the Tombstone, helping your Elite Barbarians get to the Tower a lot easier.
You will also want to use Zap on the defending Goblins, Spear Goblins or Minion Horde, helping your Graveyard deal a lot more damage.
Archers – Top used card at the moment
Archers don’t die to Zap and The Log, which is pretty awesome on defense.
Archers are also excellent at kiting units (place them at the middle to pull troops to the opposite lane).
Take a look at here to read more tips on using Archers!
Mega Minion – The obvious choice of 99% decks at the moment.
Excellent on defense as it doesn’t die to Fireball, Arrows and Zap. With its pretty amazing damage and the help of any other defensive card, you won’t find it hard to deal with most strong pushes.
One Mega Minion is enough to deal with Lava Hound. It kills the Lava Hound pretty quickly, soaks all damage coming from the Pups and picks them off one by one.
General Gameplan
Tombstone is probably the best card you want to play first while using this deck. It gives your opponent a decent amount of pressures, forcing him to place something down as soon as possible. If you don’t have Tombstone, you can use either Ice Golem, Mega Minion or Archers at the back.
Personally I don’t recommend playing Elite Barbarians at the back first since it’s pretty risky, especially against Royal Giant. In the worst case, If you have Elite Barbarians, Graveyard, Freeze and Zap in your starting hand, drop your Elite Barbarians at the back and see how your opponent reacts.
This is a pretty expensive deck so you will want to save your Elixir throughout the match with positive Elixir trades. Except the Graveyard, you can use all other cards on defense effectively.
Best Offensive Combos:
- Elite Barbarians + Ice Golem + Graveyard
- Elite Barbarians + Ice Golem + Freeze
- Ice Golem + Graveyard + Freeze
There are still loads of other combos but the three above are probably the best ones you will want to play.
