Mega Hog Deck For Arenas 4+ (Wut?)

Hi, this is HiPeople MC with my FIRST GUIDE ever on CRA, the Mega Knight deck!

Okay, I’m not an idiot, I know Mega Knight is an Arena 10 card, but if you won the Mega Knight Challenge and at Arena 4+ (with Inferno Dragon), this deck is BEAST.

On my bad account (fgghtorpwer), I pushed from about 2600 trophies straight to Hog Mountain! My worst thing that happened when I was pushing was a DRAW.

Also my Mega Knight is level TWO on a FREE TO PLAY account, so… just want to celebrate with my first Clash Royale Arena guide!

General Deck Information:

The Average Elixir Cost of this deck is 4.0, so it doesn’t have fast cycle. Make sure to watch out for Elixir collectors.

This deck has three spells, so you have a good loadout for spells. The shortest cycle for four cards is 12 elixir, but also includes all three spells in the cheap cycle, so you better hope you’re not having to cycle back to Mega Knight when you have no elixir and not double elixir time.

This deck should be rather effective against tanks, as this deck has three tank killers.

Cards Breakdown:

Clash Royale Mega KnightMega Knight

The heart of this deck. In this deck, NEVER send a Mega Knight without any spells in your hand. This deck does use counters to Inferno Dragon and Minion Horde, but watch out as Mega Knight can’t attack air.

Clash Royale Inferno DragonInferno Dragon

Your trusty tank killer. This deck may have P.E.K.K.A as a good counter, but just play Mega Knight on the other side if so. Inferno Dragon may kill tanks, but with Electro Wizard as the hardest counter to it, the next 2 cards were MADE to kill it.

Clash Royale Skeleton ArmySkeleton Army

My favorite card and another tank killer. If the opponent plays an Electro Wizard, Skeleton Army will destroy it so their tank can die. If your Inferno Dragon is not killing a Lava Hound (not so used anymore), the Skeleton Army will destroy the tank along with the Dragon and make for a great counterpush!

Clash Royale Minion HordeMinion Horde

LavaLoon’s Worst Nightmare. Also E-Wiz’s second worst nightmare (we all know #1)

If they Zap your Skeleton Army, Minion Horde comes right near. Also makes a great synergy along with Inferno Dragon as an anti-Electro Wizard push.

It is your main anti-air card. Great when overlevelled.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider

Your win condition. Probably the best punishment in the game. Along with Skarmy or Minion Horde, the crown towers can die. For just 4 elixir, the Hog Rider can kill almost an entire tower if left unresponded!

Clash Royale ZapZap

Time to tell the three spells in this deck. Zap is the first and most important.

Kills Skarmy in a pinch and can kill a Minion Horde if overlevelled. Also kills 3 Musketeers if paired with Fireball.

Clash Royale ArrowsArrows

This card is SO powerful if paired with Fireball as it can devastate a tower, taking away 327 HP from a crown tower, along with killing almost ANY glass cannon!

Also, Arrows is Minions/Minion Horde’s worst enemy!

The high damage spell of this deck.

Without this you’re toast. The death of the two best glass cannons, Musketeer and Wizard. An overlevelled Fireball will destroy a 13 elixir Witch Wizard Muskie push for 4 elixir!

If they’re using a Minions + Minion Horde deck to troll you, Fireball will MAKE them use the raging king emote.

General Gameplan:

3:00 – 2:00

Play all defense and occasionally counterpush.

NEVER USE MEGA KNIGHT UNLESS YOU’RE ABOUT TO LOSE. Keep it as a surprise card to your opponent. (This may change after Mega Knight gets its full-on release)

Use Hog as a punishment when they play expensive cards. If you know Minion Horde is not necessary to defend, do a Hog + Horde synergy. If you know they use Tornado, don’t play Hog Rider AT ALL, unless for distraction if you HAVE TO.

2:00 – 1:00

Same as 3:00 – 2:00, except it’s OK to use Mega Knight, just I wouldn’t recommend it.

If they have a pile of glass cannons, kill them with Fireball, not Mega Knight.

1:00 – 0:00

This is my favorite time with this deck. This is the time to destroy the opponent.

When they have a HUGE push on (they probably will) play Mega Knight on it and use the laughing emote. (Make sure they tilt and hate on you to death. They will just help you more when they tilt like that.) Then form your push off of the Mega Knight counter.

Destroy their towers and while they defend there, wait until they play their swarm card and then play a Hog Rider on the other lane to pressure them, while also winning another crown for your Crown Chest and the Clan’s Clan Chest.

If possible, kill their King’s Tower.


Clash Royale GolemAny Beatdown: Try to kill both Crown Towers so that they have no Elixir Pump placement that Hog Rider won’t kill.


Use Inferno Dragon to kill the Giant or Golem then, if you can, counterpush with Inferno Dragon + Minion Horde to bait out a spell. That way, play a Skarmy to kill the 3M if Fireball is not in your hand.

Watch out for Zap. It is a very used card that can make your defense fall to crumbles. Try baiting it with Skarmy so that the Inferno Dragon can kill their tank.

Clash Royale Three Musketeers3M Heal:

Make sure to send the Fireball + Arrows combo fast enough so that they waste 3 elixir on Heal. Then attack from there. If those are not in your hand on an emergency, Mega Knight the 3M.

Clash Royale Lava HoundLava Hound Balloon:

Inferno, Inferno, Inferno, Horde, Horde, Horde. Save the Arrows for the Lava Pups if they kill your Minion Horde. If they have E-Wiz, Skarmy is the answer.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider: Skarmy Minion Horde kills all. (except maybe a Wizard or Executioner.)

Kill the Hog Rider and counterpush from there with your Hog Rider.

Clash Royale MinerMiner/Graveyard:

Minion Horde is your life there. If the Horde cant kill it, Mega Knight for emergencies. Do an Inferno Dragon counterpush from there.

Clash Royale Goblin GangSpell Bait:

Zap helps you SO MUCH with Inferno cards. Keep it useful. Use Hog Rider as a pressure card while pre-Arrowing the Skarmy. Save Zap for Inferno Tower/Dragon. The Mega Knight will pay mercy to Inferno Cards. Kill any troops they send to you with Skarmy or Minion Horde.


I hope you lucky Mega Knight owners have a fun time playing with this trolly deck

My biggest advice with this deck: Only play Mega Knight at double elixir time for two reasons:

  1. More elixir means more Mega Knights on the board
  2. It’s fun to surprise and troll your opponent to death while also killing all of their glass cannons.
