Megalooner – Pompeyo’s Oldish Hybrid Deck!

Hey guys! The Ice Lord with my first guide!

I stumbled upon the deck when I got the Mega Knight from the shop, and have been dominating with it ever since! I found this deck on an oldish CWA video but made adjustments for the air weakness.

Mega Knight Balloon Deck

Lands with the force of 1,000 mustaches, but might not have even one!

This guy is your only splash troop, (besides Ice Spirit) but you don’t have to worry about pesky swarms too much.

Melts any glass canons or mini tanks that dare stand in this guys way! Paired with Bats can take out defending troops and the Tower.

Pretty much gives everything that has more health than 2,000 a bad day.

Versing Log (or Zap) bait, would recommend dropping on a Goblin Barrel, as Bats, Arrows, Zap, or Ice Spirit can solve this problem. Treat this guy as a second win condition, as he takes damage, but Miner is much better.

Clash Royale MinerMiner

This guy screams chip damage. Or he should….

If playing against a really good player, this guy can dish out damage, every uh at a time! Paired with Bats can shred a Tower.

Try to always mix up your Miner placements. At the start, I would go with a back Miner, then mix it up to a semi-risky king Tower spot, a tile between the Tower and the king. But don’t be too mad if they activate their king Tower, as this deck can take towers really fast.

I would only recommend a front Miner if you’re sending it alone,as it is a bat move with Bats, as they can Zap, Tornado, arrow, or use any spell, and get a positive Elixir trade.

Clash Royale BalloonBalloon

Once, on a CRA post, someone was talking about a surprise card. Like 3 Musketeers right at the center of a clutch two crown.

The Balloon serves the same purpose.

I think of it as don’t drop the Balloon until Double Elixir, as they can usually counter your Balloon Miner or Balloon Bats push easily, then counter push.

You could swap this blimp out for a Rocket, but you will find yourself using it in normal Elixir, leaving yourself for good punish. But if you hate playing the Balloon, then I can’t blame you!

Clash Royale BatsBats

These little furry things are unstoppable. Except for Zap…

Doing the math, these guys can kill a P.E.K.K.A, MK, and Lava Hound within 10ish seconds. These guys do 335 damage a second. (at tourney standard) (WOW)

So good a stopping Valkyries, knights, bowlers, or anything ground targeting. Against Log bait, a decent counter towards Goblin barrels, too, if you don’t have your spells in cycle.

Clash Royale Mega MinionMega Minion – CUPCAKES!

This thing serves as your cheap mini tank glass canon take downer.

Can destroy any Princess, ice wiz, ewiz, and so on. A good counter to those pesky cards mentioned above from defending. can also shut down a Balloon, but that is very specific.

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit

This little guy might not be as adorable as his burning counterparts, but this guy does a great job at freezing everything for just one Elixir.

He can also act as a pull troop if you need to buy more time from an incoming tank.

Plus, that Freeze is clutch. Facing Barrel players, the most common setup is a split Barrel, but if the put it on one side, or pull a trick Barrel, you can easily Freeze those Goblins, and take the whole barre out with just a single Elixir.

If they split there Barrel, always put your Ice Spirit (or any defending troop) at the back of the Princess Tower, as that is the Goblin she targets last.

If you’re making a small push, adding on an Ice Spirit make the push Towertakeable. (that’s a word)

Clash Royale ZapZap

Who does love a good ZZZZZZZZAAAAAAPPPPP?

Facing a defending Inferno Tower against your MK, you can get in a good Zap! And stun the Inferno Tower. If there are Bats, or (in some cases) Spear gobs, you can snipe them down with a simple Zap! (love saying that)

When defending against a lone Minion Horde, you can Zap it, and the Tower will snipe down all 6, without taking a single minion swipe. (or is it hit?)

An all-around good card, as a cheap spell that can’t have a negative Elixir trade due to its low price.


Clash Royale ArrowsArrows

When I first saw this, I was a little questionable, but once I predicted every Minion Horde/Minions, I have to have this card on my deck. Also good for sniping down princesses and serving as a second spell, completely denying Log bait. (I know it’s “Spell bait”, but doesn’t have the same ring.)

I once had Arrowed for the 2 crown, but I wouldn’t recommend cycling Arrows, as there are much better things you can do with this instant Princess. (almost)

General Gameplan

3:00 to 1:00

In the beginning, cycle Ice Spirit, Bats, Mega Minion.

The worst hand to have is Zap, Arrows, MK and Balloon, since dropping the Balloon is a no, Mega Knight they can punish you, and you have better uses for your spells.

In that situation, I would wait until you opponent drops anything from 3 Elixir or more.

If they drop a big push, I would Mega Knight the support troops, and let him clean up the tank/ mini tank. Then I would counter push with Miner or Bats.

I would say drop 1-3 MK’s during this time, but be sure not to let them punish you. Still, you have your Ice Spirit, Bats, and Mega Minion to defend with, so that’s why I love playing P.E.K.K.A, as you can’t be punished, but it’s really powerful.

1:00 – 0:00

This is the time when your deck takes on a little bit of beat down, or cycle. Either cycle Balloons, Miners, or MK’s, or form a massive Balloon, MK, Miner, Bats, and Ice Spirit.

Since you can take towers so quickly, don’t worry if they have taken a Tower with you having 0 damage. You can quickly take out the first, and then go (preferably) for a solid 2 crown.


In overtime, it is exactly like 1 minute to 0 seconds.

Except you might trick your opponent to let down their guard, then destroy with Miner tanking for Balloon.

Example. Place down MK or a Mega Minion on the side that already has a Tower down or the side that you don’t want to push. (their might be a spawner or a building there.) Since you have probably already have done a mini beat down with MK Miner Bats or Miner Bats Balloon, Then they will be expecting this.

When they put down a heavyish troop to defend with, you can go for a Balloon Miner Bats, or just Balloon and Miner, and save Elixir for Arrows or Zap.


Clash Royale Goblin GangSpell bait

This has to be the essayist match up ever.

You have 2 spells, countering the “bait” factor, MK dominates Goblin gangs, and the Knight, I gave this a 2/10 instead of a 1/10 because of the Inferno Tower, but that can be stopped with Bats, Ice Spirit, or Zap.

Your opponent should only play the Rocket during Double Elixir, but if they don’t, that is a free Tower for you.

If they do play it in Double Elixir, you can bait out there Rocket with a MK or Balloon, and punish with the other. (also Rocket barely even takes half of an MK, even with Rocket at max and MK at lvl 1)

If they choose to play the Tornado version, the only thing they will stop is one Balloon out of 3, or kill Bats.

Tornado doesn’t really affect MK, and I’ve seen him jump out of the Tornado, onto the Tower for a clutch win.

Clash Royale Hog RiderControl

A bit harder, as they will always be running Inferno Tower or Dragon. But that what’s Zap, Bats, and Ice Spirit are for.

The Mega Minion does pretty well against the Miner, getting a neutral Elixir trade. Bandit also gets destroyed by MK, but if you don’t have that, or Bats and Ice Spirit, the Bandit will land a dash.

Clash Royale GolemBeatdown

Probably the hardest match up, especially the P.E.K.K.A version.

The MK can wreck any Knight Witch, Lumberjack, or Wizard that dares walk behind a Golem/ P.E.K.K.A/ Giant. One of the main problems is there is no building, allowing a Golem to go straight towards your Tower.

But your opponent would only drop there big pushes in Double Elixir, and then you could get down MK, Mega Minion, Bats, and even Arrows for swarms.

Clash Royale MinerCycle

Cycle is mediumish, as you only have 2 (or if you count Ice Spirit and Bats 3 ) counters, the Mega Minion + Ice Spirit, or the MK.

And as cycle got me to arena 10, I’ve learned that a single Bats/ Hog or Hog Goblins can three crowns if left unattended.

Clash Royale X-BowSiege

The only problem with Siege is that they could do a center Mortar, allowing for 1-3 Mortar hits while your MK is in its dead zone.

Against X-Bow is ok, as the X-Bow just grazes the MK, unless they defend extremely well. In Double Elixir, the Balloon can be pulled with Mortar/ X-Bow, but other than that, it is a very easy matchup.
