In the upcoming April update, Supercell is removing the Clan Chest out of the game…
Hi all,
We just wanted to give you a heads up about our plans for the Clan Chest, so it doesn’t take you by surprise when the update arrives.
As you may have guessed from the title, we’re removing the Clan Chest from Clash Royale in the next update. However, all of the rewards that the Clan Chest gives will be pumped into another feature.
We built the new feature in a way that allows its rewards to grow bigger. Which means you’ll initially see less rewards, but through playing well and actively, you can get a lot more than what the biggest Clan Chest offered.
Before we add more features to the game, we always like to sanity check our current feature list to make sure everything is still as good as it should be. We know we can’t simply keep adding and adding, because the UI alone will become cluttered at some point, so we like to trim back when/where it makes sense to do so, while we add new and better features to replace or improve upon what we’re removing.
With the Clan Chest specifically, we feel like it’s become less cool than it was originally, simply due to it being in the game for a while now and perhaps seeing some “feature fatigue.” We think Clan Chests are completed more passively nowadays, compared to them being more of an actual event, as they were initially.
We know the Clan Chest provides a good way to monitor activity levels within your Clan and see who’s still kicking around. Having this information is really important to running a successful Clan, so we’re making sure this kind of “activity check” is still possible without the Clan Chest – stay tuned for that!

Personally I think it’s great to have a new reward system.
It’s like a new game changing feature which prevents players from losing interest.
Also, most players do not really care about the Clan Chest anymore since the rewards are kinda not worth it.
Last but not least, more rewards = more fun.

Xbow cycle is what I use. Log, Tesla, archers, ice spirit, ice golem, fireball, xbow, mega minion.
This a bittersweet moment for me. The last four weeks I’ve gotten a leggy out of every chest. I thing that cc should stay and cw should also come, I mean, why would it be harmful to the game? Players would get really excited about thAt!
Happy to found this news. Yes the game was getting bored and the chest clan few times with good things. Also, is kind of the same old when to challenges we refer to. It is a shame cause in itself is a good game. Not to mentioned that 40000 coins for 1 card, 20000 coins for an upgrade…kind of lunatic. And 3 hours minimum to open a chest makes you come back just every 3 or more hours a day … do the math guys and make the game worth of wasting our time and money on it.

I’m with hybrid FTW. It’s bittersweet. My clan has only missed completing the clan chest…two times, I think. But it has begun to feel more like a chore that has to be completed rather than a game that funs to play. Plus there is the drama it can cause amongst the clan members. I would like to see Clan Wars as long as they don’t challenge level the cards. Here’s to hoping this update breathes some new life into the game!
Yeah I agree. Maybe it would’ve been better if it was every other week or something. But either way replacing is interesting and I hope it’s Clan Wars
I like this, something more like an event is going to be very very good, it’s also gonna be more rewarding, maybe something like the clan games from CoC which is fine too.

I like this. Put more of an emphasis for rewards on playing well, not playing so often that you do nothing else. I am not good in Clan Chests even though I am arguably my clan’s best member because I try to balance golf, school, CR, Mario Kart Wii (don’t judge), and having a social life and enough sleep. So yeah, I like this a lot

RIP clan chest you will be missed… I got legit more than 4 legendary cards from that thing, and so much gold. our clan was always active so we always got good stuff.. hopefully the clan wars are better than clan chests

Clan chest are just not worth the time and it gets boring grinding for crown every weekend
CR needs a new feature to keep players interested in this game. So many players are quitting this game because the lack of innovation so this update will be great
Edit: Also, I hate players who only donate 1/2 crowns in clan chest but gets the whole reward, unfair as hell
