As we all know, Mirror got a huge buff in the last Clash Royale update which allows it to mirror cards to 1 level higher at Tournament Standard. Due to some important card breakpoints, use Mirror to take that huge advantage as well as rebel your opponent’s mind.
Best Cards to use with the Mirror
After using the Mirror for a while, I decided to make a tier list of troops you should mirror and shouldn’t mirror.
These cards’ effectiveness and extremely cheap costs will be immensely versatile when get mirrored. Mirroring them is a low-risk move, which gives you the potential of the high reward. You can use these cards initially on defense then you can mirror them for the counterpush.
Mirroring the Goblin Barrel in Tournaments/Challenges is such an insane move since Zap level 10 can’t 1 hit the level 11 Mirror Goblin Barrel.
Tier A: Miner, Goblins, Spear Goblins, Skeletons, The Log, Goblin Barrel, Mega Minion
Hands down it’s very hard to deal with 2 Miners at the same time. Although it would be wary to mirror the Miner at the starting, this strategy has won me loads of games in the Challenges at the moment. Most decks right now have no more than 1 counter to the Miner, which is usually Mini P.E.K.K.A or Guards.
If your Spear Goblins, Goblins and Skeletons got zapped, you can definitely mirror them to strengthen the counterpush. Plus, mirrored Goblins at Tournament level can’t be zapped!
Mega Minion? Solid defensive unit and very cheap. Excellent in almost any situation. Why not!
Knight, Archers, Minions, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Lumberjack, Valkyrie, Hog Rider, Bomber, Musketeer, Guards and Ice Wizard are decent cards to mirror in some desperate situations. Use them If you don’t have any better choice. They are so versatile so I believe you can handle almost situations with them.
Arrows and Fireball: Indeed, it’s pretty expensive to mirror these cards but due to their versatility, it’s totally worth it in so many situations!
Minion Horde and Barbarians: Although it’s very expensive to mirror them but If your opponent is about to launch a huge push. Mirroring them is necessary to defend the 10+ Elixir pushes. Just don’t place them too close in order to deal with splash damage cards, especially the Poison!
Elixir Collector: It’s pretty risky to mirror the Elixir Collector but this move has lots of potentials, especially If your deck is expensive.
Bowler, Wizard, Dark Prince, Baby Dragon, Witch: If you have the Elixir advantage, mirroring one of them could devastate your opponent in one push. However, due to their Elixir costs, If your opponent has the answer to them, you will have a hard time defending.
Mirroring buildings is usually a really bad move. You can simply place your building down and use them cheap troops to do the same exact job, with the benefit of having your troops alive, being ready for the counter push. What is the point of having 2 buildings sitting in your side?
Mirroring Balloon is another bad move unless you already have a strong meatshield for the Balloon. Most of the time, If your opponent has the answer for your first Balloon, he/she will usually can take down the next one easily.
Inferno Dragon is a great card but not good enough to be mirrored. His retargeting is crap.
Poison: Since the slow effect doesn’t stack and its Elixir cost is pretty high, it’s not worth it at all to mirror the Poison. Spending 9 Elixir for pitiful slow and meaningless damage? Nooo!
Prince is incredibly expensive to mirror. It is also very easy to counter him for the Elixir advantage.
Tier F: Golem, Lava Hound, P.E.K.K.A, Giant, Sparky, Freeze, Skeleton Army, Lightning, Three Musketeer, Rage, Giant Skeleton, Royal Giant.
Golem, Sparky, Giant, Lava Hound, 3 Musketeer, Royal Giant, Giant Skeleton are all too expensive. You will get punished really bad.
Rage/Freeze effects don’t stack. I really don’t want to spend too much Elixir for the meaningless effects.
Rocket/Lighting: Mirroring them is only useful in the double Elixir time but due to their very high Elixir costs, I don’t recommend mirroring them at all!
