Trifecta Deck for Arena 7, 8 and 9 – The New Meta Breaker

What’s up! Zigge here with another guide on how to use a deck. This is a Meta Breaker deck which means that it’s built to counter the Meta. Examples of Meta decks are; Bowler Graveyard, Giant Bowler and Royal Giant Furnace. I’ve been playing around with those decks a bit and have figured out what those decks are weak to and that’s basically what you need to do to make a good counterdeck. Let’s get into the deck!

NOTE: There are alternatives below each card, if you decide to use one of these, please use all of them, they work better against Giant Bowler but worse against Lava Lightning.

Hog Rider – Your main win condition of this deck. Pair him with either Fire Spirits, Ice Spirit or Goblins for small pushes and with the Valkyrie and Musketeer for bigger counterpushes. When you start off the game, Hog + Fire Spirits is the best combo you can get because they alone take care of Barbarians and Minions. When you use the Hog Rider + Ice Spirit combo, always be ready with your Zap against eventual Goblins, Archers, or Minions. Hog + Goblins is a deadly combo if your opponent hasn’t got his Zap in hand or if his Zap is 1 level lower than your Goblins. The Hog Rider is not replaceable because he is your main win condition and a part of the Trifecta.

Musketeer – Musketeer has kinda fallen out of the Meta due to the popularity of Archers and Mega Minion. I chose Musketeer in this deck because of her long range and relatively high health which makes her able to survive a Fireball. She is very good against Mega Minion and melee attackers like Knight and Mini P.E.K.K.A. Musketeer can be replaced with Mega Minion but it will weaken your offense a bit.

Alternative: Mega Minion

Valkyrie – One of the best defensive units especially against the popular Graveyard and support cards like Musketeer and Wizard etc. Don’t use her purely offensively as you want her on defense. The best way to utilize the Valkyrie is to use her on defense and then counterattack with a Musketeer and Hog Rider. With Fire Spirits behind this push is unstoppable and kills everything (except for Lightning, hard counter to this deck). Hog Rider for tower damage, Valkyrie for strong ground splash and tankieness, Musketeer for high point-air-damage, Fire Spirits for air splash damage. Valkyrie can not be replaced because she’s a strong defensive card, direct counter to Graveyard and a part of the Trifecta.

Alternative: Ice Golem

Ice Spirit – This little girl will support your Hog Rider very well on offense but also offer strong defensive abilities. She can alone take out a Minion Horde on your side of the map and on your opponent’s side with the help of a Zap. The Ice Spirit is replaceable with The Log if you’d like to.

Inferno Tower – The best defensive building against Royal Giant and Lava Hound. Also very good at defending against Hog Rider and Giant. If your opponent zaps your Inferno Tower, use your Ice Spirit to freeze their tank allowing your Inferno Tower to charge up damage again. The Inferno Tower can be replaced with any defensive building but I chose it because it counter the Meta very well.

Alternative: Cannon

Fire Spirits – One of the best and cheapest splash cards in the game. Use it mostly on offense to support your Hog Rider but they’re also very good defensively against a Minion Horde or Barbarians. Fire Spirits + Ice Spirit is a good combo against Balloon as they can take it out with no damage on your tower. Fire Spirits can be replaced with Fireball.

Alternative: Lightning

Goblins – One of the best cards against Graveyard and Mini P.E.K.K.A or on offense with your Hog Rider if they don’t have Zap in hand. Ice Spirit + Goblins is a good mini push to chip their tower if they don’t have a good counter. Use it to apply pressure or when they’ve placed down an expensive troop (6+ Elixir) in the back. They’re also very good with Hog Rider if they’re wasted their Zap on your Inferno Tower Goblins can be replaced with Guards to counter Graveyard better or with Skeletons.

Alternative: Skeletons

Zap – Use it against Goblins or Fire Spirits or to allow your Hog Rider one extra hit on their tower. Zap is one of the best cards in the game etc. etc. so just use it as you already do. You can replace Zap with The Log or Arrows.

General Gameplan

Play defensively and don’t overcommit until you know what deck they’re playing. Your main pushes are Hog Rider + Ice Spirit/Fire Spirits. When you get into 2x Elixir, and you’ve figured out your opponents strategy, you can start make big counterpushes and you’ll succeed. Either you chip with the outcome of a positive Elixir trade or take their tower down.

When do I go for my big push?

Your big push is Hog Rider + Valkyrie + Musketeer + Fire Spirits. Don’t to this push right at the bridge, instead, you wait and then counterpush. Say that your opponent has a Giant + Musketeer + Mega Minion push, use your Inferno to take care of their Giant, your Musketeer to snipe their Mega Minion and a Valkyrie for their Musketeer. You overspent by 2 Elixir but that’s okay because you will have an almost full health Musketeer and Valkyrie. Place your Hog Rider and Fire Spirit and that should be game.

Is it okay to do a Valkyrie + Hog Rider push at the bridge?

Hog Rider + Valkyrie is a strong combo if they don’t have the proper counter to it. I only recommend this push if you know their strategy and hand.

How do I play against certain decks and strategies?

  • Miner – Play defensively and get the Elixir lead for a big counterpush.
  • Giant Bowler – Play aggressively and don’t let them build up a big push.
  • Bowler Graveyard – Defend their push with Valkyrie + Musketeer + Inferno Tower and then go in for a big push.
  • Lava Lightning – Use Inferno Tower to defend and Musketeer if they use Lightning. Be aggressive.
  • Hog Rider – Play as you would against Miner.
  • Royal Giant – Be as aggressive as you can and don’t let them push down their RG.

Starting Hand

Here’s the order of cards you wanna start with;

  1. Hog Rider + Fire Spirits, at the bridge
  2. Musketeer, in the back
  3. Fire Spirits/Ice Spirit/Goblins, at the bridge
  4. Valkyrie, in the back

Pros

  • Counters the Meta well
  • Synergizes very well
  • Pretty cheap

Cons

  • A little bit weak to Giant Bowler
  • A bit weak to Hog Rider
  • Weak to Spawner decks
