Hog Spirits Deck – Get to Legendary Arena!

Hello my friends, today I am going to introduce to you another easy-to-use Hog Rider Deck which helped Bob pushed to Legendary Arena with pretty low level cards. This deck utilize both Fire Spirits and Ice Spirits to support the Hog Rider and quickly cycle through deck.

Card Breakdown

Hog Rider: He is the main damage dealer of this deck. He is our win condition. All of the other cards in this deck are used to either support him or defend. No matter what card you want to couple the Hog Rider with, you always can launch a big push to bypass buildings. He is also very helpful at taking out X-Bow and Mortar! Upgrading Hog Rider from level 7 to level 8 truly doesn’t make a lot change. It’s better to focus on other cards once your Hog is at the Tournament level.

Fire Spirits: This is my to-go card in almost any deck Just because of how effective they are! They allow you to do the big push cheaply. They can deal hundreds of damage to the Tower. They can take down the whole Minion Horde and Goblin swarms. When coupled with Zap, they can easily take down Barbarians. They also weaken the mini tank your opponent places down while dealing damage to troops nearby. These guys are just sooooooo helpful in almost any situation.

You will want to upgrade it to at least level 9 If you want to push to Arena 9 with ease (in order to 1 hit Barbarians).

Mini P.E.K.K.A is very versatile on both offense and defense. She is a great complement to the Hog Rider. On offense, she can take out Hog Rider, Giant Skeleton, Giant, Royal Giant,… quickly and join the strong counter push right after that.

A small Mini P.E.K.K.A + Ice Spirit + Fire Spirits combo sometimes is enough to take down a full HP Tower If your opponent doesn’t have the right defensive cards in his hands.

Zap is definitely the best spell in game at this time, on both offense and defense. Zap can 1 hit Goblins, Skeletons, low HP units, … I really like its special ability, the 1 second stun. It allows your Hog Rider to do 1 more hit. Zap can also reset Sparky + Prince charge and Inferno Tower’s damage.

Maybe you don’t know. At relative level, Zap denies 2 Elixir from the Elixir Collector (read more at here). Which means you can cycle your cards in some important situations without losing any Elixir (2 Elixir for 2 Elixir).


Fireball is great at finishing weakened Tower. It is also very helpful at dealing with swarms and Huts. I usually play pre-Fireball when I have the Elixir Advantage. High risk, high pay. If your opponent always place the Cannon at the same spot, pre-play your Fireball right at that spot and your Hog can get to the Tower faster. Couple Fireball with Zap and you can take out lots of troops hitting behind the tanks! I strongly recommend you take a look at this Fireball guide for more details!

Ice Spirit is the new and very versatile card in Clash Royale. Combine it with either Mini P.E.K.K.A or Hog Rider for an unstoppable push! On offense, you can couple it with Mini P.E.K.K.A to take down any tank quickly. Ice Spirit + Zap is a great combo to take out Minions which have significantly higher levels than yours (Level 7 Ice Spirit + level 9 Zap can take out level 11 Minions).

Elixir Collector is an obvious choice for almost any deck in Clash Royale at the moment. In Arena 8, it’s recommended to place it right in front of your King’s Tower so both Tower can target the Miner. Also, when you place the Pump right there and couple it with the Inferno Tower, you can easily pull the Balloon + Giant combo and use that combo to trigger your King’s Tower. In short, use the Elixir Collector to get Elixir advantage and force your opponent to attack first!

Inferno Tower is very popular right now in the meta game. It can solo kill all defense targeting units, especially Royal Giant and the Giant + Balloon combo. A level 5 Inferno Tower can solo kill level 8 Hog Rider and level 10 Royal Giant. Anyway don’t forget to remove Royal Giant’s support behind while the Inferno is dealing with him!

General Gameplan

Hog Rider and Elixir Collector are the best opening hands you will want to have. Place either down once your Elixir hits 10. If you are lucky enough, your opponent will place a high Elixir troop on the other lane right when you place your Hog Rider down, you will most likely get that Tower.

If you don’t have either in your starting hands, place either Fire Spirits or Elixir Collector in the back.

After a push, keep playing defensively and save up to 10 Elixir for the next push!

How to push:

  • You can use a lone Hog to see what your opponent uses to counter, but only do this once!
  • Hog Rider + Fire Spirit + Zap is a very powerful push you want to use most of the time before the x2 Elixir time.
  • Hog Rider + Ice Spirits + Fire Spirits + Zap is even better but you need to spend more Elixir. Do this when you have the Elixir advantage.
  • If your opponent doesn’t have the Barbarians in hand, Mini P.E.K.K.A + Hog Rider + Fire Spirits is a great combo you want to play. This combo can take out the Tower within seconds,.
  • If your opponent counters your Hog by using Mini P.E.K.K.A, use Ice Spirit instead of Fire Spirits!


Here are some common matchups we face everyday:

  • Three Musketeers = Zap + Fireball.
  • Hog Rider: Use Inferno Tower to take it down and use Zap to clear support troops nearby. You can also use Mini P.E.K.K.A instead and run the counter push right after that.
  • Golem deck: Use Inferno Tower to deal with the Golem. Kill the support troops behind with everything you have in your hand.
  • Royal Giant: Use Inferno Tower reactively to quickly take down the Royal Giant. If he is protected by Barbarians, use Fire Spirits + Zap to take them out, otherwise use Fireball. If you don’t have Inferno Tower in your hand, use Mini P.E.K.K.A + Ice Spirit instead.
  • Giant + Balloon: Use Inferno Tower to pull them, use Mini P.E.K.K.A to take down the Giant quickly. Don’t hesitate to use the Ice Spirit or Zap to freeze them both. Inferno Tower can do tons of damage in just 1 second!
  • Miner Deck: Place the Mini P.E.K.K.A wisely and you will be find! Other cards will help you deal with the support troops!
  • Giant + Sparky: Lure the Giant with Inferno Tower and use Zap + Mini P.E.K.K.A to take out the Sparky. Otherwise you can use Ice Spirit to take 1 hit from the Sparky before sending the Mini P.E.K.K.A in. If your opponent doesn’t play any other support cards nearby, Inferno Tower + Zap is enough to take out both!
