Surprising Hog Rage Deck for Arena 4, 5 and 6

Hey, it’s aldrxc here and today I’ll show you an awesome deck with Hog Rider, Skeleton Army and the Rage Spell. This deck brought me from Arena 4 to Arena 7. What’s actually surprising is that this deck only uses cards up to Arena 4, and has no Legendary card. Also, it’s very unique and funny to play with!

Surprising Hog Rage Deck

Card Roles

  • Arrows – Finishing small troops with high number counts. Zap has more uses, therefore it works better than Arrows, but Arrows are still fine.
  • Rage – Allow troops to move faster, and attack faster.
  • Tombstone – This will be your counter for building-targeting troops such as Hog, or Prince.
  • Valkyrie – Tank damage, or destroy GROUND large number count troops.
  • Skeleton Army – Bait Arrows, Zap, Fireball or any spell that can destroy/weaken Minion Horde. Also can be used with Musketeer for a mini-push.
  • Minion Horde – Used with Hog, can deal LARGE amounts of damage to enemy crown/king tower as the main attacker, or to stop air troops.
  • Musketeer – Can be used with Hog-Minion Horde as a support, or with Skeleton Army for a mini-push. Also useful in defense.
  • Hog – Main “tank” troop of the deck. Although this troops isn’t that tanky, it is used as the main combo of the deck to quickly get to the tower, tank damage to protect the Minion Horde, and dealing some damage to the tower.

  • Arrows = Replace with Zap if it suits you better upon reaching Arena 5
  • Tombstone = Cannon/Tesla but Tombstone is better for this deck.
  • Valkyrie = Fire Spirits but not recommended

General Gameplan

At the start, place Tombstone in the middle. If Tombstone isn’t in starting hand, place the Musketeer to at least deal some damage to the tower. If opponent places troops, to clear the troops, place Skeleton Army at the back to bait Arrows, Zap or Fireball out ONLY if you have Hog and Minion Horde in hand as well. As soon as the opponent plays a card to wipe out the Skeleton Army, play Hog and Minion Horde on the other lane to immediately begin your push.

Valkyrie or Musketeer can also be used to support the push, but only if there is enough Elixir, in which case you would place either Valkyrie or Musketeer at the back of crown tower, let elixir replenish until you have enough to play Hog and Minion Horde. If you have Rage in hand as well, be sure to use it as it still gives a significant boost in your troops performance. In this deck, you can use Rage in any push!

If you have managed to get 1 Crown, and your troops have more than half health left, place more troops down to deal more damage to King’s tower, and if destroyed, earns you an instant 3 Crown victory. If however, troops are almost dying, play defense, let the opponent attack and start defending with Musketeer, Skeleton Army, Valkyrie or Minion Horde. ALWAYS REMEMBER to place your Tombstone in the middle once your opponent uses Prince, Hog, Giant or any of the troops that target buildings, with an exception of Prince and Dark Prince.

While you are defending, take note of how much Elixir the opponent uses and try to guess how much Elixir they have left. If they have very less elixir, you can start to push for 3 Crown. In this case, Hog, Valkyrie, Musketeer and Minion Horde can all be used to start the push. But also keep in mind that the opponent will try to stop your push, and may push or counter-push, so defense isn’t something that isn’t worth trying to.

At the Double Elixir time, which is the 1-minute mark, either push for a 2 or 3 crown if you haven’t got a 3 crown during the middle phase. Push with either Hog and Minion Horde, or the Trifecta + Minion Horde. But if your opponent tries to start a push instead, keep defending until the opponent has less elixir, and start another push. If somehow the battle goes to overtime, there are 2 options. Keep defending successfully till the battle if over, resulting in a draw, or if you are not confident of defending, or are confident of pushing successfully, push with everything you’ve got.

Since this guide is pretty short, don’t hesitate to ask me any question If you need help! Not only me but also lots of players here will do the best to help you!

I hope you have found this deck useful and HAPPY CLASHING.

Hey Will, I know to be patient for you to get to my deck BUT I don’t trust technology so I was wondering if you do have a Lava hound miner submission in there?

    • Will Potter

Yup I got it my friend!

      • F▪▪▪▪▪▪O▪▪▪▪▪▪X

        Great, thanks!

  • Robert McDonald

Saw a variation of this deck just now in arena 8. Player used mirror instead of tombstone.

    • Will Potter

      I hate Mirror!
It’s so hard to predict their strategies!

      • 210577

Fastest way to obtain max legendaries XD

      • DopePandaGaming

If u read comments then u will definitely read this becoz I haven’t got a single super magical chest even though I have been playing this game from the starting of its release and I have got atleast 1000 chest but not even one super magical chest.

  • Alpha_Mark717

    never tried raging trifecta
    it shall be fun…XD

    • Will Potter

xD Pretty fun. I coupled them with the Lumberjack and got a pretty impressive result!

      • 210577

It’s plain awesome. Just submitted a Hog Frage deck that works in 8 XD

        • Will Potter

Thanks mate! I will post it If it’s good enough 🙂

  • Jerry Xu

is it just me, or is the musket in the pic level 1?

    • Will Potter

      Correct 😀

  • Ryan Wong

I think Supercell should really nerf the hog rider. It’s simply overused, and they’ve nerfed pretty much every other meta card: X bow, Giant, Royal Giant, Zap, Princess, Elixir pump, etc.

    • D-Mate19

I think it is balanced right now, if overused. But giant poison needs a nerf, preferably by the poison

    • Will Potter

They are working on troops which make the Hog weaker! xD

      • yw zhen

True. Nice job with all of these posts Will. I appreciate your work. Unfortunately, many of these decks that are posted require legendaries or are too mainstream in my opinion. No offense to you, but I make my own decks. I’m not sure if you agree, but can you tell me which of these cards you like and dislike? I’ll give you my opinion on them, but feel free to disagree. I’m open to your thoughts. Right now, I’m working on a Level 4 account at 1950 trophies and a Level 7 account (going to be 8 soon, because I’m a couple donations away from getting enough cards for my mass upgrading) in Frozen Peaks. Here’s the list.

        Hog Rider: Annoying
        Inferno: Filthy
        Royal Giant: Nuisance
        Witch: Well balanced
Wizard: Flimsy health, but very useful
Minion Horde: Level 13s are absolute nightmares for my Level 8 arrows, even though I worked on getting them up a level early! Otherwise, Level 9s and 10s are just plain old annoying, but not too bad.
        Giant: Strong card; very useful
Prince: When supported by a Valkyrie and when you don’t have any good counter cards in your deck, all you can do is push the other lane. I personally let my tower absorb a couple hits while Mini Pekka takes the rest. Meanwhile, I’m on the other lane doing work.
        Rocket: FILTHY
Poison: Minor nuisance. It’s starting to get serious though, because you usually can’t gauge a spell’s level till you see the damage the done. You know there’s a problem when it starts melting your wizard. Level 5s and 6s are the worst.
Lightning: Really annoying; although I don’t come across it much.
Zap: Minor annoyance, except when used with Barbs or Valks to Demolish my push. With my new modifications, I’ve pretty much neutralized that threat, except when they have a fireball. 🙁
Bomb Tower: ANNOYING AF. FILTHY! It’s not as bad, now that I don’t use a Witch deck, but it gets on my nerves.
Valkyrie: One of the best cards in the game. High versatility.
Mini Pekka: An absolute nightmare when paired up with the Valkyrie on defense. When dealing with Giant Witch, drop Valkyrie between the Giant and the Witch, making sure that it lures all the Skeletons, and then drop off the Mini Pekka.
Arrows: A must have in any deck. I think it’s better than zap, because it can kill off the stuff that zap can’t.
Spear Goblins: Extremely useful card for luring, as well as cycling. Sometimes, I use it to take down a tower at critical health.
Ice Spirit: AMAZING! The 2 second freeze time is priceless! It allows a Mini Pekka to get off one extra swing, prevents a hog from getting any at all when paired up with minions, or maybe prevents your opponent from getting a game-winning hit.
Fire Spirit: Destroys Barbs, Minion Hordes, Hog Goblin, and anything else in between. Great card.
Musketeer: Very useful card. Only problem is that mine is Level 5 while everyone else uses Level 7 or 8 Fireballs. Nice for chip damage if left alone.

I guess I overkilled it Will. Hope to get a reply. Happy clashing!

        • 210577

Hogs are annoying, RGs are a nuisance, Wizards are useful, but why are Infernos filthy? XD

          • yw zhen

Infernos have extremely high damage after a couple seconds. Unfortunately, I don’t have zap in my deck. LOL. I mean, I know how to counter it, but it’s extremely annoying.

        • Will Potter

Hehe nice. Thanks for the great comment buddy!

          • yw zhen

Thanks. I’m not sure if I should submit a deck or not… I surely don’t want to change the whole meta, although it isn’t even that strong… It’s proven though.

    • yw zhen

Hog got a nerf a couple updates ago. It’s overused in my opinion, so I avoid it. It’s extremely annoying how it can get a couple free swings in if you choose not to have a defense in your deck. I think Supercell has done a pretty good job though. And that Princess nerf is amazing! I’m Level 7 (almost Level 8) Frozen Peak and my Level 5 rares and Level 7 commons are getting dominated by her. I’m working on getting them up a level. I run no epics or legendaries. Right now, I’ve saved up about 20,000 coins, and soon, I’ll start on a mass upgrade. Once I get the required cards of course.

    • yw zhen
Here’s proof that you can still overcome all obstacles. I use no Legendaries. It was Level 4 and 5 rares, level 6 commons, and two level 1 epics.

    • lamepotato

but giant is still op in my opinion

  • weirdo

can i use zap instead of arrows

  • Dylan Ennis

    Ummmm…..Whats a trifectia deck?

    • Will Potter

Decks which contain 3 core cards (like Valkyrie, Musketeer and Mini P.E.K.K.A)

  • Bobby Doct

this is pretty cool but i use this variation in arena 7
hog, skarmy, arrows, rage, fire spritits, musketeer, valk, cannon
