Hey guys, Norbysweg here with an amazing Hog Furnace deck for Arena 5 and 6! There was a time when I finally got into Arena 5, and the first card I got was the Furnace. I find this card a great spawner, and now I’m going to talk about this amazing Hog Furnace deck.
Hog Furnace Deck for Arena 5 and 6
In this deck we’re going to use these cards:
Average Elixir Cost ~ 3.8
This deck is more defense-oriented, because I like gaining advantage of Elixir and counterpushing and double-lane pushing.
Furnace (Main Card): Here I’m going to talk more about my choice. This card is just great, if it doesn’t get hurt it spawns 2 fire spirits every 10 seconds on a total duration of 50 seconds, which means 10 fire spirits for the cost of 4 Elixir. It has decent HP, the amount of Fire Spirits spawned per 10 seconds is enough to evaporate the most popular defense for Hog or Mini P.E.K.K.A pushes, the Minion Horde. 2 Fire Spirits spawned by the Furnace cost 0.8 elixir which is the cheapest counter to the Minion Horde, but at the same time they can destroy any distraction or cheap defense such as the Spear Gobs or the regular Gobs, they can destroy the Witch’ skeletons, and they can deal nice damage to the Tower too! They deal nice damage to the Barbarians, they deal with the skeleton army, the Furnace is just the perfect Building, whose spawns contribute in cheap pushes. That’s the reason i made this Hog Rider deck featuring “The Fire Spirit Spawner”, to maximize this card’s effective in battle.
Hog Rider: Not much about him, one of the best offensive cards. Decent HP, regular Elixir cost, Powerful. Pair it up with Spear Gobs and 2 Fire Spirits for a cheap, complex push. You can also couple him with other troops to bypass buildings.
Spear Goblins: Cheap, great defense, they can steal a little damage on offense if unnoticed, great if paired to other cards. Great solution for a lot of units.
Barbarians: Great defense for almost any threatening combo, you can use them as starting card in the back of the King Tower or just as defense, plus they can destroy a tower if done nothing against them. Overall a great card, especially against Giant decks.
Zap: Wonderful spell, you can use it to get one more hit on the Arena Tower, you can use it to destroy hordes, you can use it to stun threatening troops, it is just unbelievable how good this card is, all of this for just 2 Elixir.
Valkyrie: Mini-tank, defense, great damage, spin. Takes out every cheap defensive troop such as Gobs, Spear Gobs, Skeletons, absorbs Fire Spirits, and deals with Barbarians too! Does great Elixir trades, can’t leave her out of this deck.
Mini P.E.K.K.A: You can use her in cheap pushes instead of the Hog, you can use her on defense too, her powerful hits and his fast movement speed make the Mini P.E.K.K.A an excellent choice. Amazing card! Versatile on both offense and defense. Please take a look at this page for more details about her!
Minion Horde: Tank killer, makes great Elixir trades, you can use them for split combos (placing them in the back of the King Tower, in the 2 middle squares makes them split so 2 minions go on one lane and 4 on the other), these things and the Barbarians are quite the same, just that the Minions have less HP, but at the same time they can kill air units too! Great card, can’t leave out.
Now I Think I’m done with the cards so I’m going to talk about how i call it: “The Battle Scheme”.
The best way to start the battle is waiting for 10 Elixir and placing the Furnace on a 5×2 build which means 5 tiles from the river and 2 tiles from one of the Arena Towers. If your opponent didn’t play anything yet, pair up your Hog or Mini P.E.K.K.A with the Fire Spirits for a light push. If your opponent goes for a push, try to win the elixir trade and go for a push using the Furnace, it sets up such easy pushes, it’s used for distraction while it builds up attacks on the other lane, it’s definitely a great card.
Use this if your Furnace isn’t available. Wait for 10 Elixir and build a light Hog/Mini P.E.K.K.A + Spear Gobs push, or defend for your opponent’s attack. After the map gets pretty clean, place the furnace as usual, 5×2 build.
You should focus on the Furnace, every time it gets rekt and you aren’t threatened, place another one and focus on cheap pushes, you can do double-lane pushes, it is just great to have so many options. If you defend something well with Barbarians or Minion Horde, drop your Hog Rider on the other lane because these defense cards aren’t easy to defend and they will have to choose. So this deck mainly focuses on light double side pushes. I almost forgot to mention that you can use spear goblins for cheap damage all the time.
Hog/Mini P.E.K.K.A/Valkyrie+Spear Goblins ~ Spear Gobs do extra damage and they are good at support. Cheap, versatile, fast combos. Better with Furnace Spawn backup.
Hog+Barbarians+Furnace Spawn ~ Place the Barbarians in front of the Hog, followed by the Fire Spirits. This combo can’t be defended with the Inferno tower, which I absolutely hate while using Hog decks. The Fire Spirits are the best defense for the Minion Horde, so it won’t be hard dealing with them.
Valkyrie+Mini P.E.K.K.A/Hog+Furnace Spawn+Spear Goblins ~ This is the most powerful combo in this deck, not much to say: Valkyrie as a tank, Mini Pekka/Hog as the main damage dealers, Spear Gobs and the Fire Spirits as backup/support. But I think you should mainly focus on light combos.
