Long time no see any Hog Rider Graveyard deck in the Arena. It’s time to play something old but also new!
Hog Rider – The Main Win Condition
In this deck you will be playing the Hog Rider much more than the Graveyard and when on the Tower can do devastating damage. This card is usually paired with a cheap support card.
Graveyard- The Other Win Condition
Graveyard is an extremely strong card which but needs a mini tank for it, pair it with the Hog Rider or the Ice Golem
Ice Spirit – Cheap Support Card
Paired normally with the Hog Rider on offense it can let the Hog get 1-2 more hits of and also Freeze the counter to the Hog for a short period of time
Minions- Air Support Card
Minions are a really good defensive card and even better on offense they can be used to take out most low health troops and help take down tanks pair it with the Hog for a strong offensive attack
Poison – Medium Spell
Poison is great paired with Hog or the Graveyard as it takes out swarm units and melts away low health units like a Wizard
Tornado – Light Spell
The Tornado is a unique card that activate your king Tower when pulling melee troops to it, it also can be paired with the Poison to take out Three Musketeers
Ice Golem – Mini Tank
This card helps out both win conditions very well by tanking for it and clearing out Bats and Skeletons when killed
Bandit – Melee Support
The Bandit is a very unique card that can tank for the Graveyard but when dashing it will switch the Tower aggro onto the Graveyard’s Skeletons doing a lot of damage it can also be paired with the Hog Rider, if you do not have the Bandit replace it with the Knight for a more defensive option.
First minute (3:00 – 2:00)
Before 2x Elixir, it is not recommended to play Hog Rider and Graveyard at the same time but you can still play them separately.
Pair the Hog Rider with the Ice Spirit, Ice Golem, Bandit, Minions or Poison. I don’t recommend pairing it with the Minions in the first minute until you know what there deck is because the Minions could be more needed on defense.
Pair the Graveyard with a Bandit, Ice Golem or Ice Spirit only add Poison if you once they play a “Poisonable” unit.
Do not prediction Poison until you know their deck.
Second minute (2:00 – 1:00)
By now the enemy Tower should be on around slightly more than half health to 1 quarter health left.
Nothing really changes from the first minute except that the now you can play one “Hogyard ”
During this minute there are two ways to do this. You can either save up to 9 Elixir then play them together or you can play the Hog Rider in the back and gain Elixir then do the Hogyard.
Do not play the Hogyard if they have a good counter to the Hogyard like Minion Horde until 2x Elixir, so that you have enough Elixir for the Poison.
Double Elixir Last Minute to Overtime (1:00 – -1:00)
This is when you can play as many Hog yard combos as you want because you will be able to cycle very fast.
If you want the Hog to tank for the Graveyard, play the Hog first. If you want the Graveyard to tank for the Hog play the Graveyard first. Which ever win condition you choose to tank it will get less hits of.
Ice Golem can tank for both if you want Hog and Graveyard to do the offensive work.
Golem: This is a difficult match when they play the Golem push the other lane and if they play Elixir Collector Poison it. It is important that you pressure them so that they do not build up a big push.
Hog Rider: This Is an easy match as long as at the start of the game you Tornado the Hog to your king Tower you should dominate most of the game just remember to Tornado away their Hog.
Three Musketeers: This is a medium difficulty match if you maintain pressure and Poison Tornado their Musketeers you should be fine
Siege: This is a medium difficulty match if you maintain the siege units agro on your Ice Golem or Hog Rider you can win but beware the Hog Rider will struggle to get to the Tower
Bait: This is medium difficulty match even though even though we do not have Log, Zap or Arrows in this deck Tornado works very well in countering bait decks. It can activate the king Tower when a Goblin Barrel is sent over and Poison can help out with defending
Graveyard: This is a Easy – medium difficulty match if you keep out the tanks for the Graveyard with the Ice Golem and use Minions for the Graveyard and Tornado Graveyard matches can be relatively easy
Elite Barbarians: This Is a Easy difficulty match if you do a Ice Golem Minions combo you can take out the Ebarbs and some support units for a positive Elixir trade
Giant Beatdown: This is a hard match like Golem you have to push the other lane as this deck does not have the defensive capabilities to take down a large push
Lava Balloon: This is a medium match with the Minions and Tornado it is easy to take down the Lava Balloon if you push the other lane so that they don’t build up a big push
Push the other lane when a beatdown push is coming! This deck cannot defend against a heavy beatdown push but be wary not to push that hard or you will not have enough Elixir to defend. If they ignore your push, put all your Elixir into it so that you can attempt to three crown. This a final gambit technique and I only recommend using it if they have a Golem or Lava Balloon push coming.
Don’t use the Graveyard on defense. One noob move I see people doing is using the Graveyard on defense. The Graveyard is a very fragile defensive card and it very risky for 5 Elixir. I only recommend using it on defense when near the end of the game to stall a push.
Learn a good Graveyard placement! A noob move I see people doing is putting the Graveyard on the side of the arena this is a bad move as a Valkrie or Bomber can easily splash all the Skeletons. More details can be see here.
